Biography

Inspired by my brother Dr. Tamay Aykut,  I studied Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the Technical University Munich (TUM). My interests comprised the field of artificial intelligence, robotics, and neuroscience. When I received the Master of Science (M. Sc.) degree in 2020, I joined the Fraunhofer Institute for Cognitive Systems (IKS) in Munich. Our main research aims to study the problems of safe reinforcement learning (RL). We focus on model-based reinforcement learning methods, as this is a promising topic in safe RL. Besides my research interest, I like backpacking, football, volleyball, and cooking. Recently, I joined the hobby league team in football.
